We are a neighborhood bakery in coastal downtown Oceanside, California. We are self-funded and homegrown right here in Oceanside. Products are made from scratch, with fine ingredients and gourmet techniques, making Petite Madeline a popular breakfast and lunch destination.

Our baking practices

Everything is made here in small batches and in the artisan style. This means our baked goods are made from scratch using unadulterated ingredients. We respect the process of baking, thereby bringing out the best flavors only time allows. This is especially true with breads and croissants, where it can take up to three days — the time dough needs to develop its distinctive character.

Our savory menu

We cook by the season. Like our baking methods, our lunch and weekend breakfast offerings are made from scratch.

Our customers

Many of our customers have become friends. We know them by name… and most of the time we know what they want ahead of time. This is the place where friends meet friends. A tasty pastry, coffee, or delicious lunch in hand, makes for a more pleasing rendezvous.
